Ingredients
- 1 large egg white
- 45 mL pure maple syrup
- 1.25 mL cayenne pepper
- 2.5 mL freshly ground black pepper
- 3.75 mL grey salt
- 3 cups mixed raw nutsI used 217 g almonds and 180 g pecans
- 45 mL sesame seeds
- 45 mL millet seeds
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment and set aside.
-
In a medium bowl whisk the egg white until frothy. Add the maple syrup, cayenne, black pepper, and salt, and mix to combine.

Add the nuts and seeds and stir with a wooden spoon until everything is evenly coated. This can take a couple of minutes to ensure an even coating.
-
Spread the syrupy nut mixture on the prepared pan and toast for 25–30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or as needed so they brown evenly.
-
Allow the nuts to cool completely, then pack into jars for travel or snacking.
