Milton’s Gluten-Free Baked Chips & Crackers

Milton’s recently sent me a selection of their gluten-free baked chips and crackers and asked for an honest review. I received these products at no cost, but the thoughts below are my own and include input from a friend who can eat dairy.

I first discovered Milton’s chips at the Gluten Free Expo in Atlanta in May and was impressed enough to finish a bag of the Himalayan Salt chips in my hotel room that same day. When Milton’s sent more samples, I was eager to try them again. Their products are certified gluten free and made from non-GMO, real-food ingredients. They are free of gluten, soy, egg, tree nuts, and peanuts. Most of the chips are dairy-free (the exception is Nacho Cheddar), while the crackers do contain dairy.

I invited a friend for a small taste-testing session: I focused on the dairy-free chip varieties while she sampled the Nacho Cheddar chips and the crackers. Overall we appreciated the ingredient list and the bold, enjoyable flavors. My kids also gave the Himalayan Salt and Sea Salt chips enthusiastic approval. Below are more details about what we liked and how each product performed.

Milton’s offers five chip varieties, all made from a blend of corn, brown rice, chickpeas, and lentils. The lineup includes:

  • Himalayan Salt
  • Sea Salt
  • Red Chili Salsa
  • Green Chili Salsa
  • Nacho Cheddar

I sampled four of the five varieties, skipping Nacho Cheddar because it contains dairy. Himalayan Salt was my favorite: it delivers a satisfying, robust salt-forward taste that works well on its own or with dips like guacamole or salsa. The Sea Salt chips are milder and seem slightly thinner in texture, making them an easy everyday option.

The Red Chili Salsa and Green Chili Salsa varieties are both flavorful and spicy. The red is noticeably spicier, while the green offers a milder heat. Those two are great if you enjoy a bit of kick, though they may be too hot for very young children. My friend tried the Nacho Cheddar chips and found them tasty and filling; she appreciated that they felt like a more substantial snack made from cleaner ingredients.

The crackers look hearty and would pair well with cream cheese, hummus, bean dip, or cheese spreads. The four cracker flavors are:

  • Everything
  • Multigrain
  • Sea Salt
  • Cheddar Cheese

Because the crackers contain milk, my dairy-free family didn’t try them. I relied on my friend’s impressions for these notes.

She favored the Multigrain crackers, describing them as the heartiest and slightly thicker—ideal for dipping. She also liked the Sea Salt variety, noting they pair best with a spread or topping. The Everything and Cheddar Cheese crackers were described as bold in flavor and satisfying on their own.

In summary, Milton’s gluten-free chips and crackers are made from recognizable, non-GMO ingredients and offer a variety of textures and flavors that suit different snacking preferences. The chips provide options for dairy-free diets (aside from Nacho Cheddar), and the crackers deliver satisfying, flavorful choices for those who consume dairy.
