Hard to believe Galaxy’s Edge is here! After years of anticipation, we are all ready. Here are practical tips to know before visiting Star Wars Land at Disneyland.

Star Wars Land Opening Dates
- Disneyland Park’s Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31, 2019. Walt Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios opened on August 29, 2019.
- Reservations were required to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland between May 31 and June 23, 2019. During that opening period guests needed valid theme park admission and a reservation to enter the new land.

What To Expect When Galaxy’s Edge Is Open To All Guests
From June 24, 2019, Disneyland Resort put a virtual queueing system in place to manage access so guests could enjoy the rest of the resort while waiting to visit Batuu. The Disneyland app includes a module named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Status and Access on the home page. After entering the park, guests can request to join a boarding group via the app. Boarding groups receive a push notification when it is their turn to enter the land, and status can be monitored in the app. Guests who are not using the app may be able to join from select locations inside Disneyland Park. Boarding groups are tied to the guest admission media and will be scanned upon entry into the land. Signage throughout the park also displays boarding group status. Admission into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge remains subject to capacity, and having a boarding group does not always guarantee entry.
In Basic Terms
- If you want to be among the first to enter Galaxy’s Edge, plan to arrive early. Guests lining up at the park entrance around 6:30 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. opening have been allowed to line up near the land entrances prior to the official park opening. Early arrival can let you head directly into Galaxy’s Edge without needing a boarding group.
- If you can’t arrive that early, don’t worry. Once you are through Disneyland’s main entrance you can use the Disneyland app to request a boarding group. Note that you must be inside the park before you can get a boarding group.

Information About the Virtual Queue

Reservations for Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop
Beginning June 24, 2019, guests could attempt to secure same-day reservations for Oga’s Cantina and Savi’s Workshop at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their park visit. If you successfully reserve a spot at Oga’s Cantina or Savi’s Workshop for that day, you do not need a boarding group; the reservation serves as your pass into the land. It’s recommended to be ready online before 7:00 a.m. when reservations open—Disney’s systems may place you in a virtual queue so you’re positioned to request a reservation as soon as the window opens. If reservations fill early, try again later in the day as more slots sometimes become available. Use the Disneyland app search bar to find and reserve Oga’s Cantina or Savi’s Workshop.

How to Get into Oga’s Cantina
Oga’s Cantina operates on a reservation system. Same-day reservations open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of your visit; having a confirmed reservation grants access to the land during your reservation window. If you plan to try for a reservation, be ready in the Disneyland app at opening time.
Dining Recommendations in Galaxy’s Edge
Galaxy’s Edge offers several signature food locations. Docking Bay 7 serves larger meals with themed plating, Ronto Roasters offers handheld options, and Kat Saka’s Kettle is known for themed snacks. Mobile ordering and attraction wait times are available through the Disneyland app for planning during your visit.

Lightsaber and Droid Experiences
- The Savi’s Workshop lightsaber building experience is priced around $199 and typically lasts about 20 minutes. Expect some waiting time before the experience begins; lines can be 30–45 minutes or longer depending on demand.
- The Droid Depot experience starts at approximately $99 to build a basic droid. Additional accessories and upgrades are available for purchase. The standard build offers a fun hands-on experience and many guests find the included package satisfying.

Useful Apps to Download
- Download the official Disneyland mobile app to plan your visit, check attraction wait times, locate character encounters, and use mobile ordering at select dining locations inside Galaxy’s Edge.
- Download the Play Disney Parks app to enhance your experience within Galaxy’s Edge. The app allows guests to interact with droids, translate Aurebesh, scan cargo crates and containers to collect virtual items, and engage with immersive elements throughout Batuu.

Disney bounding—putting together outfits inspired by favorite characters—is allowed. Guests should wear appropriate footwear. Batuuan-inspired attire, such as muted tones, vests, and layered looks, fits the land’s aesthetic and is encouraged as long as it follows the park’s policy.

Not Permitted
- Robes or military-style attire
- Masks, face paint, elaborate headwear, blasters or holsters (lightsabers are permitted), and hard items such as body armor, helmets, or kneepads
